| Message body: | St Chrysostom's e-Newsletter 27th October 2009 Last Sunday there were 80 at Mass, and we welcome especially those who are new among us. Children's days, Monday to Wednesday, 9.30am - 3pm are well under way. We have limited the number to twelve children. For these holidays they are thinking about saints of God. Worship this week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Mass at 5pm Wednesday, church open for silent prayer 4-5pm, Vespers at 5pm. Wednesday is the Feast of Ss Simon and Jude, Apostles and on Thursday we commemorate Bishop James Hannington, in whose memory there is a stained glass window in Church. On Saturday we've a lunch together at The Bell House (family friendly) pub in Didsbury. We meet at church at 11.30am and get the 50 bus down (£3.40 return) or meet at the Cinema at Parrs Wood Complex at 12Noon. You can check out the menu and prices on the internet by clicking here. Already 14 people have signed up. Are you coming? Either sign the list on church or text Tracy to let he know: 07778163920. Next Sunday is All Saints Sunday: Parish Mass as usual at 11am. All Saints Cafe Church at St Chrysostom's You are invited to St C's Cafe Church for All Saints Day next Sunday at Church. We'll be open from 4pm and begin at 4.30pm. Its an informal time of having tea or coffee and cake / sandwiches together, conversation, and some singing / worship and optional activities. Everyone is welcome. We'll finish with fireworks. We'd welcome offers of cakes or sandwiches just speak to Fr Ian or Penny. Grace and Temi and some other women members of Church have been asking about the possibility of having a women's group at Church. If you are interested there'll be an informal gathering after Mass this coming Sunday to talk about it. Fancy a game of football? Sign up if you fancy a game with other church members - mixed ability, male or female. There is a notice up in church, or speak to Tracy. We've a good number of Confirmation Candidates for this November, they are asked to come to Cafe Church on Sunday afternoon. The Confirmation is on Sunday 22nd November at 6.30pm In November we remember those who have died - family and friends and we pray for their peace. On All Souls Day (Monday 2nd November) there will be a Requiem Mass at 5pm (please note the time). The All Souls service, at which the names of the departed will be read out will be Sunday 8th November at 6.30pm. If you have people whom you would like remembering please fill in a slip available in church and put it in the envelope provided, or e mail Fr Ian. Thank you to everyone who has so far volunteered to do things at Church. It is so good that so many have offered to take a part in the life and witness of our church. In the next two weeks volunteers will be hearing how they can do the things they have volunteered for. Some future dates: Saturday 7th November, 5.30pm Mass for LGBT people and friends (orhganised by the Bishop of Manchester's Advisory Group on Sexuality), Sunday 8th November, Book Reading Group at 4pm at Methodist International House. Tuesday 10th November, Evening Meal out to the Armenian Taverna in town, Sunday 15th November Sr Julie and Sr Catherine invite church people for an afternoon cup of tea at their house.
